So what about the Democrat-Gazette’s report on the  Huckabee sacking of state Department of Emergency Management director John Brackin? Was it for the crime of telling the truth about the state’s lack of preparedness to the federal government? Was it for not adequately informing the governor in advance of that assessment or telling the governor something different? Was it because the state’s preparedness is embarrassing to the future presidential candidate?

A thought: If there are shortcomings in the state’s disaster preparedness — and even the governor seems to concede that  — do you think maybe some responsibility lies with the man who’s been the state’s chief executive — with hiring and firing authority over management of the emergency agency — for just shy of TEN YEARS. Isn’t that enough time to straighten things out?
