Will Springdale play ball?

Posted By on Sun, Jul 9, 2006 at 6:44 AM

Morning News advances Tuesday's election in Springdale to extend a sales tax to build a minor league ballpark. Refreshingly, city officials don't seem to be making outlandish claims on revenue the park will produce, but touting it more as an infrastructure amenity. The sales tax IS, of course, an effective tax increase, no matter what city officials say. This article explains the three bond propositions on the ballot.

(If you missed it, the D-G earlier reported that Wichita doesn't plan to let its Double AA team transfer quietly to Springdale, as Springdale ball boosters hope.)
