Disability declared

Posted By on Wed, Jul 12, 2006 at 7:29 PM

AP reported today what we neglected to mention earlier this week. The governor and Senate president pro tem Jim Argue both were notified after Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller's return to Arkansas that Rockefeller currently was unable to perform the duties of office Arkansas law doesn't require such notification in the case of the lieutenant governor, but the message was sent as a courtesy to the other officers, both of whom have been out of state this week. Rockefeller, who returned after unsuccessful bone marrow transplants at a cancer center in Seattle, is being treated at UAMS. With the top three officers unavailable, House Speaker Bill Stovall serves as governor.
