Huck appeals to keep letter secret

Posted By on Sat, Jul 15, 2006 at 9:18 AM

Gov. Mike Huckabee is going to appeal Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza's order to release the resignation letter of former Parole Board member Larry Zeno.

The move allows him to drag out the case and possibly prevent a resolution before he leaves office in January.

Huckabee now has 90 days to file a record of the Circuit Court proceedings with the Arkansas Court of Appeals. Once the record is lodged with the court, the clerk will set a schedule for filing briefs and possibly set a date for oral arguments, which will precede a final ruling.
