The latest election vote

Posted By on Tue, Jul 25, 2006 at 7:29 PM

The Senate passed 65-34 a bill to make it a crime to transport a minor across state lines to defeat parentl notice abortion laws. The Senate refused Democratic attempts to allow a confidant, such as a grandparent, to help a teen and refused to provide more sex education to prevent abortions in the first place. Message: if you have sex, you WILL be punished.

Sen. Mark Pryor voted for the measure; Sen. Blanche Lincoln, good for her, against. The women of the Senate were 9-4 against.
