LR teachers

The Little Rock School Board meets today. Its contract with teachers, through the Classroom Teachers Association, expires Monday. Mediators met late into the night last night.

Is there a deal?

More important, is it a deal the school board and superintendent will accept?

We think there's an agreement between teachers and district negotiators, aided by a federal mediator. If so, given the posture of the district administration going in, you could conclude that the teachers union did not dig in completely on critical issues such as rules for approval of supplemental pay plans, such as the merit pay experiments at several district schools.
