Beebe's lobbyist friends

Posted By on Sun, Jul 30, 2006 at 10:51 AM

John Brummett today turns his attention to Mike Beebe's close relationships with lobbyists, forged during 20 years in the state senate.

What would Beebe say to voters who might be concerned about undue influence and favoritism?

"Two things. I'd say look at the record and determine whether I've performed objectively. I think it's clear that I have. Second, in the final analysis, this race for governor is not about whether he's a Washington lobbyist or I have lobbyist friends. It's about education and economic development and health care."
