The wrangling continues

Posted By on Mon, Aug 21, 2006 at 3:42 PM

The Paron school scrap wears on. The Bryant School District, as the D-G reported this morning, is refusing to admit students who had transferred to other districts after the Paron High School was ordered closed. Parents of Paron have filed a motion in Pulaski Circuit court saying decisions to transfer are not irrevocable and the students should be allowed to attend Paron. No classes are being held there. Several dozen kids turned up today and are under care of substitute teachers, but not receiving instruction. Two Bryant administrators and a security guard prevented students who had transferred from entering the Paron school,  the motion said. The motion asks for a contempt of court hearing and an emergency hearing to decide the issue of attendance.
