Did Gannett buy The Times?

The New York Times has hired a guy to be its "perfume critic," according to this report on Yahoo News.

There was a guy named Walker Lundy who wanted the late Arkansas Gazette to report on vital news events such as how to teach your cat to poop in the commode.

Is he now working for The Times?
