News releases to note:

Independent Rod Bryan holds a news conference today at 3 p.m. to complain about his exclusion from gubernatorial debates. We still await a unilateral decision by the state’s commercial TV stations to refuse to air this put-up job by the two major party candidates. No self-respecting newsman/woman should accept “debate” terms dictated by the candidates and offer them facilities and air time to do it.

And speaking of major parties: The Arkansas Democratic Party claims 1,000 Dems will be on hand in LR for the state convention this weekend. Members of Congress speak at 11 a.m. Saturday and the statewide candidates at 4 p.m. Virginia Gov. Mark Warner, the presidential hopeful, will be a featured guest.
