Beebe on schools

Posted By on Thu, Aug 31, 2006 at 5:27 AM

Stephens Media, covering Mike!, in NW Ark. yesterday, dips back into the rural school/consolidation issue. As A$a's man put it, Mike! pretty well had it both ways. He's adamantly for tough standards, but adamantly against increasing miniimum school district size from 350, which, though it spelled doom for Paron, is still small enough to guarantee many students will limp along on the fringe of an adequate education. Criticize Beebe's gamesmanship if you will; it leaves A$a with little worthwhile turf to defend.
