The debate you've been waiting for

Posted By on Mon, Sep 11, 2006 at 12:35 PM

It was Halter-Holt, wasn't it?

Anyway, it's almost upon us. The candidates for lt. gov. square off at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at the Clinton School of Public Service. Don Elkins, host of Arkansas Tonight in Northwest Arkansas, will moderate. Elkins will submit questions for an hour. They'll come from invited students from the Clinton School, Lyon College, UCA and the UALR Law School. Sorry, no public seating. But the media will provide reports. Surely a candidate will videotape it and put it on the web. Won't they?

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
