Walter Hussman gave a talk at his alma mater, University of North Carolina, that's written up here.

The Democrat-Gazette publisher says he intends to keep printing those expensive stock tables, even as the Internet has prompted many publishers to drop them. He's also not ready to sell ads on his section fronts. No blogs for his people, either. He's focused on content for the newspaper.

Noted: He doesn't have a passel of angry stockholders to pacify with ever higher profits, which allows him to make a comfortable living and still put out a newspaper with lots of pages and many reporters.
