Posted By on Tue, Sep 26, 2006 at 5:59 AM

NY Times notes that the Bush fund-raiser in D.C. today for races for governor in three states, including Arkansas, is one of a series of closed-door events. Candidates are happy to have his help raising money, but not be overly saddled by his record.

Democrats meanwhile, have been quick to point out that so far this election season, Mr. Bush has not done any traditional campaign rallies. “There’s a four-letter word Republican candidates are not using: B-U-S-H,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
