Copycat -- not funny

Posted By on Tue, Oct 3, 2006 at 1:44 PM

A notice from the Fayetteville School District's news office today:

A rumor about a supposed planned shooting circulated widely through FHS and the community earlier today via text messaging, cell phones, and email. A student has admitted to starting the hoax. Students were never in any danger, though many students were checked out of school by their parents.

Please help us by not passing along any gossip or unsubstantiated facts. The sad events in Pennsylvania yesterday have everyone a bit on edge, so let's be very careful about what information we pass along.
