Halter cuts ad buy -- UPDATE

Posted By on Mon, Oct 16, 2006 at 4:36 PM

Arkansas Business has a good scoop on-line this afternoon. Bill Halter has sharply cut his TV ad buys. Short of money? Sure of winning? (Just jokiing on that second one.) There's a suggestion in this story, though it's only speculation at this point, that the Democratic Party will step in with some ad buys to shore up the Halter effort.

UPDATE: We asked for and received a response from Halter's man Bud Jackson on what the ad reduction meant. In full:

It means that we have already purchased plenty of television time to get our message out.  If anyone doesn't believe us, all they need to do is turn on their television.  If we feel like more television advertising is necessary, then maybe we'll buy more time -- or maybe not.  I don't think we're going to show our cards while the hand is still being played.

Surely, there are better things to report on -- such as Jim Holt's predisposition to lie or his lack of any plans to make our schools excellent or to build and attract higher paying jobs to Arkansas.
