Have Democrats caught up?

In the vote turnout game? The New York Times offers hope.

But, on the other hand, the LA Times lionizes Karl Rove's plan to combat the Democratic wave, including putting federal money and other resources to work.

But can Republican base votes be certain when the dominant issue of the day -- the war -- is such a disaster for the GOP. Frank Rich, as usual, puts the Bush lies and PR strategy in sharp relief.
