Daughter born to Halters

Posted By on Mon, Oct 30, 2006 at 7:43 AM

Shanti Halter, wife of Bill Halter, the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, yesterday gave birth to Lauren Renee Halter. The baby girl weighs 8 pounds, 15 ounces and measures 20-¼ inches long.

The Halter campaign says that mother and daughter are in good health, and that Bill Halter "will return to the campaign at some point in the future."

"Shanti and I are thankful to God for giving our family such a wonderful gift," he said in a statement released by his campaign. "We would like to thank the countless people who have offered us well wishes and kept us in their prayers over the past few months.   We are truly blessed."
