We're insulted -- UPDATE

Posted By on Thu, Nov 2, 2006 at 11:08 AM

Here's Bloomberg confirmation of Greasy Creek's earlier tip that George Bush would be dropping into Arkansas this weekend Monday to rally the Republican base in NWA.

This is, you realize, an insult. There are only a handful of states in which the failed president's presence is viewed as a plus, so negatively is he viewed by discerning voters.

Here are the details, courtesy of the GOP:

Monday, Nov. 6, Tyson Hangar, Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Must be in place by 3:30 p.m.

To RSVP, call (479) 521-2100 or 501) 372-7301. Or email  info@arkansasgop.org

Ticket Distribution sites at GOP county hqs. in Benton, Washington, Sebastian and Pope counties.

This is not from the GOP: Reminds us of when The Gipper jetted into LR to put Ed Bethune over the top in his race for Senate. You know how that turned out. And Arkies loved The Gipper.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
