It's a good day to vote

Posted By on Sat, Nov 4, 2006 at 5:22 AM

This is the final day that satellite voting locations will be open. Hours are 8 to 4 p.m. The Pulaski County Courthouse will also be open for early voting Monday from 8 to 5.

Kent Walker, an election commissioner, said about 28,000 had voted through Friday afternoon in the county, more than double the total early vote in the last mid-term election in 2002, but well short of the 50,000 that voted in the presidential year, 2004. When it's done, probably a third of the total vote will be cast in early voting, so when those first absentee boxes come in election night (presuming all goes well with electronic machine tabulations), they could be telling about final outcomes.
