Bloody Benton County

Posted By on Thu, Nov 16, 2006 at 7:30 PM

Our source reports. Details don't really matter. They had a sort-of "recount" and came up with yet a fourth set of numbers for closely contested races in Benton County, where the Republican is king and every Walton wears a crown. Of course the Democrat lost in the close JP race. (But, no, we're not suggesting partisanship is at play. Really. This a bipartisan screwup.) There's a dead heat for a minor Lowell city position, so maybe we'll have a fifth count for that job.

Again: We have a problem on voting in Arkansas. Let's go scanner ballots with a clear paper trail. Better yet, bring back those big AVMs with the satisfying "clunk" when you pulled the big lever.
