Good press for the governor

Posted By on Fri, Dec 1, 2006 at 11:44 AM

A Republican consultant writing in The Hill says Gov. Mike Huckabee is on target in calling out Sen. John McCain, the supposed finance reformer, for a structural advantage in being able to use his senatorial campaign account for presidential exploratory work. State candidates cannot do the same.

But would somebody please tell such writers that Huckabee appears to be operating at no disadvantage, save lack of a state carryover. As his invitation to the Arkansas "put" party Dec. 16 shows, his Hope for America PAC can accept unlimited contributions. How will it be spent. Sayeth Huckabee:

The money we raise will be the seed money I need to travel to critical 2008 states and test my message for the direction our country needs to take.
