Beebe the populist

John Brummett writes today on how Mike Beebe, the perennial legislative pragmatist, became the populist champion of a cut in the grocery tax. Well, sure, politics was at the core of the decision. But Brummett says Beebe is a promise-keepr and will follow through whether on account of priniciple or obligation.
