Remember when, to name one Krugman didn’t mention, Republicans thought Rep. Vic Snyder had signed a political death warrant with his lonely opposition to the war resolution? From the Democrat-Gazette the day before the vote in 2002:

Snyder, a 55-year-old ex-Marine who served in Vietnam, is haunted by the rush to get into that conflict nearly 40 years ago. “Vietnam started out with everyone thinking we were doing the right thing,” he said. “But at some point, things didnt work right.”
