Brummett writes today about the "independent" Republican group that spent nearly a million bucks targeting a slate of Democratic candidates and failed to unseat any of them. Brummett thinks the group actually hurt its cause, rather than help, by engenedering a backlash against negative ads. Electoral success is about pragmatic politics, not single-issue attack ads, he says.
