Thin skin? Flippant? Unfunny? --- UPDATE

Not the Huckster. Any impression to the contrary, he says, is the result of work of unprofessional, unobjective journalists who lack a sense of humor. (This, remember, is from the  same man who's written in his new book that he learned early in life that he'd get no sympathy from "complaining, whining or blaming others for my problems.")

But we should add, objectively, that Gov. Mike Huckabee also spoke some words of wisdom on his TV show in saying the state should not "break the bank" in making offers to lure industrial prospects. The difficulty, of course, is deciding when a monetary offer crosses the line from smart investment to bank-breaking. The pending German steel mill deal sounds more like the latter to us.

UPDATE: We just caught this comment on one of the state's most conservative blogs relative to The Huckster's more-Bible-less-blogs comment:

Sorry Governor, they are both a part of a healthy mental diet. It would be difficult to apply what we learn in the Bible to our lives if all we ever read was the Bible. The Bible tells us to watch out for guys like you, and the blogs help us to realize that you are one of those guys.

As results continue to trickle in, the national media has realized that Donald Trump was blowing smoke in claiming a sweeping Republican victory in last Tuesday's election. The Senate losses will be smaller than originally thought thanks to Democratic pickups in Arizona and Nevada; House Democratic gains seem likely to be between 35 and 40, with some agonizing close losses elsewhere. Democrats made gains in governorships and legislatures, too. But then, there's Arkansas:
