Presidential campaigning has begun early. (Hillary Clinton has started more than nine months earlier than her husband started in 1991.) So, inevitably, the process is accelerating. Arkansas’s decision to move up its primary so as to be in the mix in the nominating process now seems likely to be emulated by other states, including New York, Florida, Illinois and New Jersey. The entry of those big states in the early stages could dramatically influence the nominees, the NY Times suggests.
