Super Sunday

Posted By on Sun, Feb 4, 2007 at 4:09 PM

It's Super Bowl party time. Make this an open line.

Re football: I know little. The Saints' defeat took the excitement out of it for me. But checking a reader's mention and finding Peyton Manning not only gave $2,000 to George Bush, he did it in 2004, when the man's (lack of) skills were abundantly clear, and another $2,000 to Bob Corker, the Tennessee Senate candidate who reaped the benefit of the sliming of Harold Ford, well ... go Bears.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
