A setback for shylocks

The bill to criminalize usurious loans by payday lenders zipped out of the House committee today, we understand, the lone "no" vote cast by the payday lenders' friend, Rep. Allen Maxwell. His work is memorialized in this Arkansas Business editorial. Trouble no doubt awaits beyond for this good legislation. The loan sharks expect a big dividend on the lobbying crew they've hired.
