Huckabee's splash

Posted By on Tue, Feb 13, 2007 at 6:16 AM

The Washington Post's blogger gave Mike Huckabee's announcement of support from old-line Republicans in South Carolina a good ride. He was nice enough NOT to mention that former Gov. Carroll Campbell's family isn't wholly for Huckabee, with one son already backing John McCain. (Or that the one son with Huckabee got beaten in his last electoral outing, so he's not wholly beloved.)

No matter. Our interest is in the hotly contested reader comments. Word travels fast in this day of the internets. Huckabee's moderate stance on immigrants -- an area in which he deserves some praise -- clearly stirs up an angry sector of Republicans. And, Arkansas Blog readers will be happy to know, James Boulder is on the case defending his man. He is everywhere.
