What's right in Iowa

The Des Moines Register, the go-to paper for coverage of the Iowa caucuses in the 2008 presidential race, suggests that 2008 could be the year for a dark horse to emerge in the Republican contest. That's because John McCain and Rudy Giuliani are presumed to have liberal baggage among the extremely conservative Iowa Republicans. That's good for Mike Huckabee. But the article goes on to note that all the dark horses hoping for an Iowa breakout have some points where they vary from this base, such as Huckabee's moderation on immigrants.
