The stench

Posted By on Sun, Mar 4, 2007 at 8:27 PM

Pardon our obsession. But when partisan politics and corruption figure in how a White House conducts the Justice Department -- through U.S. attorneys -- it's important. Now a New Mexico Republican senator admits he'd been meddling in a politically tinged case there. Easy solution. Follow the practice of the last century. Send the nominees through the Senate confirmation process. Let them answer questions. Or do Tim Griffin, Karl Rove's political operative in LR, and and the rest of the Bush Administration's so-called Justice Department no longer answer to the checks-and-balance system that has applied to everyone else?
