Any kind of prayer?

Posted By on Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 1:28 PM

In just a few minutes, the House Education Committee will hear Rep. Eric Harris' bid to reinstitute theocracy when it hears HB 2445. The Republican from Lowell, who believes Christians should run the nation, wants to keep the state education department from interfering "with student led and student initiated prayer at public school functions." The bill would allow prayer at all functions, but didn't specify what kinds of prayer should be allowed. We're guessing prayers to Zeus are out.

The committee is to meet 15 minutes after House adjournment.
