Friday night flights

Posted By on Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 6:13 PM

Flights of fancy welcome. I don't know if Warwick has signed off for good yet or not. If so, bon voyage in Conway. I'm about to plunge back into the maelstrom of Southern California freeways. My six-minute, low-stress commute has never looked better.

But, there's no ocean in Arkansas. And, at Huntington Beach this morning, it was full of surfers, the beach was covered with people playing volleyball, the miles of paved pathways were packed with bikers, skaters, walkers and joggers, fishermen were pulling in big fish off the pier and the sun was shining. We had a $20 Vietnamese feast last night in a strip center full of Vietnamese businesses last night and, if all goes well, the cheap feed tonight will be Mexican. So I'm not complaining.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson apparently felt the burn from KARK's exclusive Tuesday night on his plans to cut state support of War Memorial Stadium in half beginning July 1, 2018. He has a so-far secret plan to make the stadium self-sustaining. We bet that doesn't include state support.
