It’s about character and morals and judging others. But, in short, Brummett’s question is whether the Republibaptists can stop Rudy? Or might this be an election where the base doesn’t slaver to the usual Pavlovian cues?

Coincidentally, here’s a poll that says character counts more than issues. But character can mean many things — resoluteness in a time of great testing, for example. It is not only whether you hate gays sufficiently. It might even be your refusal to bend to popular prejudices is a sign of great character. Somebody tell that to a few Arkansas legislators, please.
