We interrupt this program for a rant

Posted By on Sat, Mar 17, 2007 at 6:35 PM

We meant to mention this story this morning. A state regulatory board director and his administrative assistant make off with a whopping $230,000 in improper expense reimbursements? He's quoted, through a lawyer, as saying, after paying back about half of the ill-gotten loot, that he wants to "get on with his life."

I'm all for that for him and his pal. As long as that life includes some prison time. A prosecution is overdue. The legislature is on a nearly rabid hunt of the poor pathological cripples who abuse drugs, to the point that they want to keep a centralized computerized register of my purchases of over-the-counter cold medicine. Do you think we could take some time off to send white collar criminals to Cummins and McPherson for a little scared-straight time?
