Stray thought

Posted By on Thu, Apr 12, 2007 at 5:39 AM

Having reviewed comments on school topics overnight, I have one thought, which I've already appended to one comment:

If Superintendent Roy Brooks is fired, will a mass number of parents really leave the schools, almost immediately, because of the replacement of a single employee? If so, why? Could these parents provide comments on how they believe the schools that they praise today could, overnight, be unworthy of their support though the teaching staff and principal is no different today than it was yesterday? Please be specific. If the difference is only fear of the as-yet-unknown meaning of new leadership, then isn't the threat of abandonment more about power  than pedagogy? A serious question.
