Giovanni still scheduled

Posted By on Thu, Apr 19, 2007 at 3:52 PM

A spokesman for the Arkansas Literary Festival says poet Nikki Giovanni is still expected to appear at the festival this weekend.

Giovanni is one of the Virginia Tech faculty members who raised concerns about one of her students, Cho Seung-hui, who killed people and then committed suicide on campus Monday.

Giovanni will speak at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Philander Smith's M.L. Harris Auditorium.

Giovanni's remarks at a campus memorial service are reported here.
