Now both Rep. John Boozman and Bud Cummins are saying they warned the White House well in advance that the stench of the U.S. attorney purge would be hard to deodorize. So why is Boozman just now deciding to talk? Fearful that Karl Rove’s boy for Cummins’ job, Tim Griffin, well-schooled in bare knuckle political practice, has his ways of getting even?

With any luck, Boozman will tell us sometime next year that he always thought the war in Iraq was a mistake.

UPDATE: Bill Moyers Journal Friday night had a great segment on the attorney purge, to illustrate the rise of blogging as an important reporting element in today’s media. You can watch the segment, Blogging for Truth, here. Tim Griffin is depicted, accurately, as a Rove tool lacking qualifications for the job that Rove wanted to give him without Senate confirmation.

UPDATE II: Page 5 of this PDF has the copy of Bud Cummins’ e-mail warning about a “stink” from the slimy Griffin appointment.
