The forecast is always good for enjoyable food reporting from the Southern Foodways Alliance's oral history project. Here's an installment on the Mississippi Delta Tamale Trail, a chronicle of Mississippi tamale joints that includes at least one reference to Kool-Aid pickles.

Which reminds me. We're soon going to open up a food blog here. Anybody with a high interest in Arkansas food blogging? I'm looking for a chief cook and bottle washer for a blog to which I and others at the Times will contribute.
