Gas prices -- a record

Posted By on Mon, May 21, 2007 at 10:54 AM

Here's an answer to a question I'd had:

Average gas prices are a record even adjusted against inflation compared with the bad old days of 1981, when the average price nationally hit a whopping $1.35 a gallon (or $3.15 in today's money vs. $3.18 for the latest national average). I don't know if Arkansas's $3 gas beats the state average that prevailed then. Close enough.
