Desperately searching for news

Posted By on Sat, May 26, 2007 at 7:09 AM

A quick scan of my favorite websites indicates most of the news world went into vacation mode early yesterday -- as did many workforces. Among items of interest:

Harry King speculates on the search for an Arkansas athletic director, at one point raising the possibility Frank Broyles could get an extension. Yikes. Surely that's just word-count filler.

John Brummett figures Mike Beebe did OK substituting for him at a speaking engagement in LR. I wish he'd had the opportunity to evaluate another Beebe appearance, in which he joined the Dustin McDaniel chorus in yapping about something they can't do a single thing about -- gasoline prices. Combined, they'll have the impact my French bulldog has when she starts barking at a rock in the road she's mistaken for a critter.
