It's a slow day, so I thought I'd cruise through the community and house blogs and mention some items of interest, leading with Ninja Poodles' mouth-watering hubcap shot at Cotham's in Scott.

On a more serious note, Richard Drake is writing some powerful essays on Street Jazz, the latest on bigotry toward gay people.

Billiken Man remembers bigotry of a different sort.

Central Arkansas Confidential covers "The Full Monty" in depth -- and glowingly. Sounds like a hit for The Rep.

Hog Lawyer cheers the Democrats' congressional subpoena power.

The MovieGoer is the busiest blogger on earth. Indispensable tips for movie fans.

And at our house blogs:

Belly Boy has a fine plate of Mexican mariscos on display at Eat Arkansas.

Lindsay Miller at Rock Candy has more good news about Little Rock filmmaker Jeff Nichols' "Shotgun Stories," plus lots of things to do hereabouts.

All you have to do is look to the blog section at the top of the left side of this page and click a link.

  • Donald Trump is historically unpopular — and not necessarily where you think

My colleagues John Ray and Jesse Bacon and I estimate, in the first analysis of its kind for the 2018 election season, that the president's waning popularity isn't limited to coastal cities and states. The erosion of his electoral coalition has spread to The Natural State, extending far beyond the college towns and urban centers that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. From El Dorado to Sherwood, Fayetteville to Hot Springs, the president's approval rating is waning.
