How to help the Delta

You've perhaps read that Rep. Marion Berry has been hassling the Delta Regional Authority, suggesting it's not getting enough bang for the federal bucks it receives to help the impoverished region.

If Berry really wanted to help the hurting in the Delta he might want to consider ...

Washington Post reports today on how rich federal agricultural subsidies mostly go to white-owned large commercial farms, not to small farmers and black folks. Yes, you remember right. Marion Berry of Gillett rakes in hundreds of thousands in agri subsidies. Share the wealth, Rep. Berry.
