It's not Whitewater any more

Posted By on Wed, Jun 20, 2007 at 9:24 AM

Yes,  the media landscape has changed since Jeff Gerth unleashed his shoddy Whitewater work (not to mention risible stories on Wen Ho Lee, Chinese technology transfers, etc.). These days, the complaints don't end in Joe Lelyveld's waste basket. The letters to the editor don't go unpublished. Now we have the web. It  is full of fact-checkers, debunkers and others with megaphones. The rest in the media pack know it and see it. (We should pause a moment to remember kindly Media Whores Online, a pioneer truth squad against the likes of Gerth and his partner in slime on the latest Hillary book, Donald Van Natta.)

Eric Boehlert explains and carves up Gerth here.
