Here comes the injudicious judge

Posted By on Mon, Jul 30, 2007 at 11:35 AM

Blake Rutherford's blog reports that Republican Sen. Shawn Womack has firmed up plans to run for an open circuit judgeship. The Republican senator isn't exactly the most judicious legislator we've seen. And there's the matter of his pork-enabling and run-in with the legal ethics commission. For sure you wouldn't want to be a gay person in his court. Steve Harrelson's Under the Dome helpfully provides a map of Womack's Senate district for the coming race between Rep. Johnny Key and, maybe, Democratic Rep. Monty Davenport.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
