Leading Democrats

Posted By on Sun, Aug 12, 2007 at 6:25 AM

Stephens Media also reports today about Bill Gwatney, the energetic leader of the Arkansas Democratic Party. The trend, at the moment, looks up. He still has a knack for getting under Mike Huckabee's skin, it would also appear. You do have to like how Huck gets prickly when Dems tell the truth about the big tax cut -- dreamed up by Jim Guy Tucker, sponsored by Bobby Hogue and approved by an overwhelmingly Democratic legislature. It was his leadership that got this done, the Huckster insists. Uh huh.

Meanwhile, Brummett provides a personal view of Mike Beebe -- his office walls have photos of John Kennedy and Freddie Couples -- and poses the question of whether Beebe is motivated by a desire to be "adored." And it turns out they're both Detroit Tiger fans.
