Public Relations 101 -- UPDATE

Posted By on Mon, Aug 20, 2007 at 9:17 AM

Good catch by Floaty. Every LR TV station last night featured move-in day at -- not UALR, not Philander, not Shorter, not Ark. Baptist -- but 30 miles up the road at Conway (no, not Hendrix). All had lavish coverage of UCA, including interviews with purple-shirted prez Lu Hardin. Lu once taught marketing and he apparently learned a thing or three along the way.

UPDATE: Floaty updates with comments from Lu. UCA just sent out a news release inviting coverage and shazam! Everybody RSVPd.

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
