The new A.D.

Posted By on Mon, Sep 10, 2007 at 7:34 PM

KHOG/KHBS says Jeff Long, the man from Pitt, will be the next UA athletic director. For what it's worth, a reliable source had also told me earlier this afternoon that the job was Long's for the taking and a decision was due shortly. The only question was whether Pitt would make some giant offer to make him rethink. Apparently they didn't. Long wanted into the higher profile SEC, or so I'm told. Now, of course, A.D. at UAF is just a job, not the seat of the Almighty.
