Rumor du jour

Posted By on Wed, Sep 12, 2007 at 8:32 AM

He's been right before, so I'll mention a whisper from a NWA reader who says an underage girl is expected to seek a marriage license in Benton County to set up a test case of whether the Arkansas Code Revision Commission had the power to clarify age-of-consent legislation to make it perfectly clear that the legislature did NOT intend for children to marry.

If true: What kind of nuts would put a girl up to this or abide the outcome in the very unlikely event she should prevail?
